Just realized I've been reading comics backwards for 20 years

Picked up a random issue from my childhood collection last week and noticed the art style changed halfway through. Turns out I was holding the book upside down and reading right to left. I checked 3 more issues and they were all the same. Has anyone else accidentally done this or am I the only one who just assumed every comic had a weird experimental layout?

Actually reading them backwards sounds like a deliberate artistic choice, maybe the creator was playing with time or narrative flow. Plenty of artists have experimented with non-standard reading directions to make a point about linear storytelling. Some of the best comic arcs I've seen use that exact trick to force you to rethink the plot.

Fair point but some panels do play with order on purpose.

Honestly, saying "deliberate artistic choice" is a stretch. I bet most people are just confused by the printing error, not having some deep narrative moment.
