I think the obsession with collecting every single variant cover is missing the point of being a fan
Spent $400 last month chasing a 1:100 ratio cover and realized I never even read the story inside. How do you decide what's actually worth collecting for your personal shelf?

Wait, he sold his whole collection over one bad box? That seems like an overreaction. I mean, sure $400 stings, but is it really worth dumping everything you've built up? I've had plenty of rough boxes where I didn't hit anything good, and the next one made up for it. Unless his buddy was already looking for an excuse to quit, this sounds more like a dramatic move than a smart one. What did he even get from selling it all?
