I spent 2 years only reading big event comics from Marvel and DC, thinking that was the 'real' stuff. A friend in my local shop in Austin said 'You're missing the whole point of comics' and handed me a copy of 'Saga'.

I mean, that's basically how I got into indie stuff too, some guy at a con just shoved a copy of 'Paper Girls' into my hands. It totally changed what I even look for in a story now. Kinda wild how one book can flip a switch like that.
