I just realized I've been reading comics in the wrong order for years

I was at a friend's place in Denver, and he saw me pick up his copy of 'The Dark Knight Returns'. He asked which part I liked best, and I started talking about the first fight with the Mutants. He got this confused look and said, 'But that's in the second issue, how did you start there?' Turns out, for some reason, I thought you were supposed to read the back cover summary first, then flip to a random middle part to 'get hooked', then go back to the start. I've been doing this since I was a kid. Has anyone else had a totally weird reading habit they didn't know was strange?

That reminds me of a friend who only read the last chapter of any novel first. He claimed it took the pressure off, but it always ruined the story for me. Some habits are just too personal to make sense to anyone else.

My uncle used to read the endings first too, but he only read mystery novels.

My old roommate used to alphabetize his spice rack, but he'd put all the blends like 'Italian Seasoning' under 'I'. It made sense only to him. I see this with streaming shows now, people who skip the pilot or watch seasons out of order on purpose. There's a weird comfort in making your own system, even if it looks like total chaos to everyone else.
