Hit 500 comics in my collection last month and realized I have a problem with issue #1s
So I finally sat down and counted my comics last month because my shelf was bowing and I needed to know why. Turns out I crossed 500 books and the scary part is about 90 of them are issue #1s. I didn't plan that. It just kind of happened. Every time I walked into my shop in Fresno I'd see a shiny first issue and grab it, and now I have a long box full of stuff I've never even read twice. The guy behind the counter, Ray, laughed and said most collectors hit that same wall right around 500. I sat on the floor for two hours flipping through them and half the #1s I couldn't even tell you the plot. It was a weird mix of proud and embarrassed. So what's your dumb collector habit that snuck up on you?
