Got a tip about bagging comics from a guy at the Dallas fan expo

I was at the Dallas Fan Expo last month and this older collector showed me how he bags his silver age books. He puts a piece of cardstock behind the comic before sliding it in the bag. Keeps the spine from creasing over time. Never thought of that before. Any of yall do something similar with your collection?

Man that's actually kind of a bad idea if you think about it. I tried it once and the cardstock made the bag too tight, put pressure on the cover edges and caused warping over like 6 months.

Did you notice the warping right away or did it sneak up on you over time? I've had similar issues with rigid inserts in bags and it's always frustrating when you don't spot the damage until months later. Sorry you had to learn that the hard way, it's such a pain when you're just trying to protect your stuff.
