Chose the dollar bin grab bag over the $50 variant at my local shop

Last Free Comic Book Day I had $20 and picked a random grab bag from the dollar bin instead of that shiny foil variant. Inside was a 1978 issue I'd never seen with a printing error on the cover, now it's my favorite thing to show new readers. Anyone else had better luck with blind bags than with pricey picks?
