Back issue bins went from treasure hunts to eBay price checks

Ten years ago at my shop in Portland, folks would dig through long boxes for hours and trade stories. Now I see people pulling out phones to check sold listings on every key issue, even the $3 ones. Anyone else notice the hunt feeling more like a stock ticker than a hobby these days? What caused the shift for you, the prices or the culture?

I run the bins at a shop in Columbus and started tagging keys with fair sticker prices last year, cut the phone checking way down since people trust the number in front of them. Give the $3 books a quick sticker too, kills the debate before it starts.
