A convention artist told me my pages were too stiff. She was right.

Last weekend at the Pittsburgh show, this artist who does indie books looked at my portfolio for maybe 2 minutes. Said my poses looked like mannequins. All standing straight, arms at sides, zero weight shift. I spent 6 months drawing like that. So I redrew two pages with her tips: bend the spine, shift the hips, let one arm hang loose. Night and day difference. Even my buddy who never reads comics noticed. Has anyone else had a pro give them a simple fix that just clicked?
