Took me 3 months to figure out my burr grinder was just clogged with oils

Everyone talks about dialing in grind size and water temp, but nobody warned me that cheap dark roast beans leave a nasty residue inside the burrs that throws off your dose by 2-3 grams. After a dozen wasted bags of $18 single origin, I finally broke down and cleaned it with some Grindz tablets and bam, back to normal. Has anyone else run into this or was it just me being a dummy for too long?

2-3 grams off??" that's wild, I thought I was bad at weighing my dose but damn.

Man tell me about it, I've had days where I thought I was eyeballing a gram and ended up with like half a gram of dust on my scale. At least you're not alone in the struggle.
