Switched from a blade grinder to a burr grinder 6 months ago and my morning brew tastes completely different now
I was using a cheap $20 blade grinder for years and thought my coffee was fine, but after getting a Baratza Encore in February, the same beans from a local roaster in Portland went from bitter and uneven to actually sweet and balanced. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize your grinder was holding you back the whole time?

The Baratza Encore is exactly what did it for me too... upgraded last fall and suddenly my Ethiopian beans tasted like actual berries instead of just burnt nothing. Same exact thing with the uneven extraction from my old Cuisinart blade grinder, it was making everything taste harsh no matter how fresh the roast was. Night and day difference once you get that consistent grind size, feels like a whole new hobby.

It's funny how your whole coffee world just flips upside down when you go from 'burnt nothing' to 'oh wait, this actually tastes like berries.' Guess we were all just drinking angry bean water before, huh?
