Spent 20 minutes dialing in my grinder this morning and still got a bitter pour-over
I was at my kitchen counter in Denver, tweaking the grind setting on my Baratza Encore for the third time this week. Ended up with a cup that tasted like ashtray water and I just dumped it down the sink. Has anyone else had a grinder that just refuses to stay consistent between batches?

Wait did you change beans recently? I used to think the Encore was rock solid but swapping from a light roast to a dark totally threw mine off, definitely made me reconsider how sensitive these things are.

Little adjustments ripple into bigger stuff than we expect. A bean swap throws off your whole morning routine, and suddenly you're noticing how tweaking one small thing messes with everything else. It's funny how the most dependable tools have hidden breaking points that only show up when you actually push them.
