Shoutout to hitting 100 coffee roasts at home and still not knowing what I'm doing
I hit 100 home roasts on my air popper last Saturday. That number surprised me because I started this as a cheap hobby to save money on bags from the shop. But now I've got a shelf full of jars with notes like "too sour" and "burnt popcorn finish" and I'm still chasing that perfect medium roast. The debate I keep having is whether I should spend $200 on a real drum roaster or just keep guessing with my air popper. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone in their coffee journey that made you question if you're actually getting better or just wasting beans?

Air popper guy here, hit 200 roasts before I finally caved and got a Behmor.

Jumped from a popcorn machine to a Behmor myself a few years back. Night and day difference in control and consistency. You gotta respect that 200 roast grind though, most people would have given up way before then. Bet the first Behmor batch felt like cheating.
