Rant: dropped $38 on a burr grinder hand crank that wobbled from day one
Bought one of those cheap hand grinders online back in March thinking I'd save money over a nice electric one. The crank arm wobbled so bad after two weeks that my grind was half powder and half pebbles, which ruined a $16 bag of beans from a roaster down in Sacramento. I kept telling myself it just needed breaking in, but by week three the burr was visibly dull and the whole thing took almost 4 minutes for 20 grams. Ended up tossing it in a drawer and going back to my old blade grinder, which honestly made me feel dumb. If you're eyeing the budget hand grinders, save up a bit more or check the burr alignment before you buy. What's the cheapest grinder you've actually had good luck with?
