I finally dialed in my pour over after switching from tap to filtered water
For months my morning coffee tasted a bit flat, even with good beans from a local roaster in Austin. I read about water quality and decided to test it, using my regular tap water for one batch and filtered water from my Brita pitcher for another. The difference was huge. The filtered water brought out way more sweetness and fruit notes in the Ethiopian beans. Has anyone else done a similar test with their water source?

Yeah, it's wild how much that changes things. I went through the same flat coffee phase and felt like I was going crazy. Switched to a basic filter jug and suddenly my usual beans had a brightness I didn't even know was missing.

60 degrees Celsius tap water here. @robin658 nailed it, that filter jug fix is real. Makes you wonder what else we're missing.

Oh man, water makes a crazy difference. I had the same flat taste with my V60 until I switched to the cheap bottled spring water from the grocery store. It was like a totally different coffee, way more balanced and sweet. My tap water is just too hard.
