Update: I spent $300 on a coding bootcamp video series that was way too hard
I bought a big online course last month that promised to teach Python from scratch. The first few videos were okay, but by week two they jumped straight into building a web app with a database. I got totally lost and couldn't finish any of the projects. Has anyone found a good beginner course that actually starts slow?

Which bootcamp was it? I've seen a few that rush through the basics way too fast. What part of the web app project made you feel stuck?

Good question, @john648. The bootcamp rushed past connecting the front end to a real database, which left me totally lost. That gap made the whole project feel impossible to finish on my own.

Doesn't it feel like a lot of courses and even real life just skip over the really important linking parts? I get what you're saying, @corad84, but honestly I've seen this same gap everywhere, not just in bootcamps. Companies will train you on one tool but leave out how to connect it to the rest of the system, so you're stuck guessing.
