TIL my code worked all day, then a single typo wrecked 6 hours

Last Tuesday I was on a roll, got my first API integration working by 10am and even fixed a syntax error without googling. Then at 3pm I added one wrong parenthesis in a loop and the whole thing just hung, no error message at all. Took me until 9pm to realize it was on line 47 of my data cleaner script in Python 3.11. Has anyone else had a bug that only showed up after a full day of fine builds? I feel like I should be checking for silent infinite loops more often.
