Signed up for a Python course 3 weeks ago and I'm stuck in tutorial hell already
Ngl I started this free Python course on YouTube 3 weeks ago and I've watched like 40 hours of videos but when I sit down to actually write code my brain just goes blank. Last night I spent 2 hours trying to make a simple grocery list program and ended up copying some dude's code from a 2019 forum post word for word without understanding half of it. My cousin who works as a dev in Austin told me to stop watching and just build dumb stuff, but every time I open my editor I freeze up. I'm on chapter 6 of this course and I still Google how to write a for loop every single time. Is this normal or am I just watching the wrong stuff? Would love to hear what actually got you out of this phase.
