Just realized my mentor was wrong about learning frameworks too early

My first coding buddy, Chris, told me I needed to learn React before I even understood JavaScript loops. I spent 3 weeks struggling through a tutorial that made zero sense until I gave up and went back to basics. Turns out he was just repeating what some bootcamp taught him, not what actually works for beginners. Anyone else get bad advice from someone who sounded like they knew what they were talking about?

@the_wesley I took that same advice once and it was a total waste of time. What actually worked for me was just sticking to what I knew and ignoring the noise.
