oh dude, right?? i did exactly the same thing with my duolingo once. got to like 60 days before i realized i was just opening it out of habit every morning while waiting for my coffee. didn't even remember doing it half the time. then my phone died and the streak was gone and i honestly didn't care because it was all just muscle memory anyway. but it felt kinda cool to see all those squares lit up just because i was addicted to scrolling lol.

My buddy swore he had a 90 day streak going on his language app. Turns out his phone auto updated and reset the counter. He was so mad. Showed me the screenshots and everything. The app still had his progress saved but the streak number was just gone. Felt pretty real to him until that happened.
