Hot take: I switched from Python to Scratch for my first month and it actually helped
Last month I sat down to learn to code and picked Python because everyone says it is the best first language. After 3 days of red error text and a stray space breaking my whole script, I gave up and tried Scratch instead. Making a little cat move across the screen taught me loops and if statements way faster than typing print statements ever did. Now when I go back to Python, the ideas already make sense and I spend less time staring at the screen. Did anyone else start with blocks before real code, or am I the only one who needed the training wheels?
