Chat with a bootcamp grad made me question my learning path
I was talking to this guy who finished a 12 week bootcamp last month and he said he never once wrote code without following a tutorial. He couldn't build a simple to-do list from scratch. It hit me that maybe chasing tutorials is holding me back too. How do you guys force yourself to actually build things without hand holding?

@ryan_coleman21 fair point, but the bootcamp guy literally admitted he couldn't code a to-do list without a tutorial. that's rough. i'm a tutorial junkie myself, once spent 3 hours copying a calculator tutorial and still couldn't make it work offline.
