Probing is cheap insurance, scrap parts are not.

That line about scrap parts really hit me. I used to skip probing to save a few minutes on a job. Then I ruined a whole batch of expensive aluminum plates because my work offset was off by a hair. The cost of that material waste was way more than the time I "saved." Now I probe every single setup.
