Ran the same 200 part job twice last month, first op took 6.5 hours, second took 2 hours 40 minutes
First run I touched off every tool at the machine with an edge finder like I was taught 12 years ago at the shop in Parma. Second run I finally set up all 14 tools offline in a presetter and loaded the offsets off a USB stick, and the only thing I touched was the vise jaw. Same program, same fixture, same 1018 blocks, 3 hours 50 minutes of my life back. Anybody else still doing it the old way because the shop never bought a presetter, or did you win that argument eventually?
