Last week my coolant hose blew and nearly cooked a $6000 part
Was running a 5-axis job at Acme Precision in Detroit last Tuesday, walked away for ten minutes to grab coffee. Came back and the coolant hose had popped off the fitting, zero coolant on the spindle for who knows how long. The insert was glowing red and the part had nasty chatter marks halfway through. Check your quick-connect fittings before every run, has anyone else had one of those plastic push-to-connect fittings let go on them?

Sorry to hear that, man. Those plastic push-to-connects are the worst, I've had one blow on a cold day too and it's a nightmare.

Plastic push-to-connects are the worst" is putting it MILDLY. I've had two fail on me and now I refuse to use them anywhere. Copper crimp rings forever, no question.
