I had a coolant line blow out on a 2015 Haas VF2 last Thursday

I was running a long cycle on some 4140 steel parts when I heard a loud pop and saw coolant spraying everywhere. The main line from the pump to the spindle had split right at a worn hose clamp. I shut the machine down, cleaned up the mess, and replaced the hose with a spare from our kit. Has anyone else had a coolant line fail like that, and what's your go-to fix to stop it happening again?

Yeah, that loud pop is the worst sound. I had a similar blowout on an older VF2 where the hose just got brittle and cracked. I switched to those reinforced silicone hoses and haven't had a problem since.

Reinforced silicone is the way to go for sure. That brittle plastic crap is a time bomb waiting to pop. Saved me a ton of hassle after my first blowout.

Absolutely, that reinforced silicone is a game changer. My old plastic line on the coolant reservoir got so brittle it just crumbled in my hand during a routine check. The mess was unbelievable, coolant everywhere. Swapped it out for a good silicone hose a few years back and it still looks and feels brand new. Total peace of mind now.
