Had to pick between a used Haas and a new Tormach last month
Went with the Haas because the local dealer offered a service package, but the tool changer has been acting up since day one. Anyone else deal with service contract headaches on older machines?

That "service package" line really hooked me too when I was looking at a used Haas. I had a similar issue with the tool changer on mine, turned out the dealer was supposed to swap out a few wear parts during the initial service but skipped them to save time. I finally got them to fix it by asking for the service records upfront and pointing out what was missing. Have you tried calling the dealer directly to walk through the warranty terms with them?
