Appreciation post: That one shift where everything just clicked

Last Tuesday I was running a Haas VF-2 and had this perfect run of 47 parts with zero tool breakage or chatter. I don't know what it was, maybe the coolant mix was just right or the bar feed was behaving. Even the cleanup went smooth, only took me 10 minutes to blow down the machine. Has anyone else had a shift like that where you felt like you couldn't mess up?

Richard's got a point, honestly. I've had shifts like that and I'm pretty sure I spent the next two days breaking taps on the same damn part just to balance things out. It's like the machine gods are keeping a running tally of your screw ups and perfect runs. That clean up only taking 10 minutes is the real red flag, something was definitely wrong with the universe that day. Probably should have checked for smoke signals or a rainbow in the coolant tank before leaving.

Nah, I don't buy it. Those perfect shifts always freak me out because I know the universe is just setting me up for a nightmare the next day.
