Why does nobody talk about using a car window as a cloud mirror

I could never get good pics of high clouds because looking straight up hurt my neck and my phone kept blowing out the sky. Last Tuesday I started shooting the reflection in my car windshield from the driver seat, and the glass mutes the glare so the wispy stuff actually shows up. Try it on a sunny day around 4pm when the sun is behind you and tell me if the colors look as weird as they did for me.
