Used to only look for lenticular clouds but now I'm all about the shelf clouds after that storm hit my backyard shed

I was strictly a lenticular guy for years. Thought they were the coolest shaped clouds you could spot. Then last summer up near Lake Tahoe, a derecho rolled through and I saw this massive shelf cloud coming in. It was low and dark and stretched across the whole valley like a wall. My neighbor pointed it out and said that's the real show. Now I can't stop watching the horizon for shelf clouds. They tell you way more about what the weather's about to do. Anyone else switch up their favorite cloud type after seeing one in action?

Respectfully disagree. Lenticulars still win for pure mystery and weirdness.

Wait, you're saying lenticulars are MORE mysterious than those old holographic movie cards?
