Just realized old cloud photos hit different than the new ones

I was flipping through some shots I took back in 2018 with my old iPhone 8 and compared them to ones I grabbed last week near the big field off Highway 61. The older ones have this grainy look that actually makes the clouds feel more real and dramatic, like a storm rolling in over the lake. The new phone smooths everything out so much it looks fake, almost like a digital painting. Anyone else notice their phone changing how clouds actually look in pictures?

Yeah that old phone grain gives clouds a real weight to em. My old Samsung did the same thing before I upgraded, the storms looked way meaner back then.

Man that grain thing is real. My old Motorola razr took photos that looked like they were from a security camera, but somehow the rain clouds looked apocalyptic in the best way. Kinda miss that raw look even if the new phone pics are way clearer.
