I caught a picture of a cloud that looked exactly like a dragon over the lake last month
It was in early May, right at sunset over Lake Michigan. The whole sky was orange and pink, and this one cloud had a long, twisty body and a head with a pointy bit like a snout. I snapped a photo just before the wind changed and it all fell apart. Has anyone else seen a cloud shape that was just too perfect to be random?

That bit about the coffee shop ceiling tile made me laugh @henrybaker, because honestly my brain does that too. I once spent ten minutes staring at a tortilla chip because it looked exactly like the state of Texas. I got so excited I showed it to my cat and he just blinked at me like I was nuts. So your dragon cloud photo sounds way more legit than my chip-based geography lesson, even if the sunset did all the heavy lifting. Tbh, my streak of finding shapes in random stuff is mostly embarrassing, like that time I thought a splatter of ketchup looked like a poodle.

My local coffee shop has a water stain on the ceiling tile that looks like a perfect map of Italy. I see it every Tuesday. It makes me wonder how often our brains lock onto a familiar shape in random stuff, like clouds or wood grain. It happens so much it feels like a little game the world is playing, showing us pictures if we look at things the right way. Your dragon cloud sounds like a winning ticket in that game, especially with that sunset light behind it. I bet that photo is amazing.
