Hot take: Stratocumulus clouds are actually way more interesting than I thought

I used to skip past them looking for dramatic cumulonimbus shots but last week a guy at the park pointed out how the light filters through those layered patches at sunset. He showed me a photo he took with his phone and the colors were wild, like orange and purple mixing in the gaps. Has anyone else noticed how the texture changes right before it gets dark?

My dad used to call them "sheep clouds" and count them during sunset drives.
