Had to pick between taking a photo or just watching the sunset clouds roll in last night

I was out on my deck in Denver around 7pm and these crazy mammatus clouds started forming. Looked like someone dropped a bunch of cotton balls from the sky. I stood there for a solid 5 minutes trying to decide if I should run inside for my phone or just enjoy it. Ended up just watching. Kinda wish I had the pic to share here though. Anyone else struggle with this choice?

You mentioned "mammatus clouds" but those are actually the bumpy pouch-looking ones that hang under storm clouds, not the cotton ball look you're describing lol. Still sounds like a killer sunset though, sometimes the memory is better than the photo anyway.

Oh man, I had a similar moment driving home from work once where the sky looked like someone spilled a whole bottle of pink cotton candy across it. I fumbled for my phone but by the time I unlocked it the colors had already faded into that flat gray. @the_evan is right that the memory sticks better than whatever blurry phone pic I would have taken anyway.
