Didn't realize lenticular clouds form near mountains like that.

I saw a stack of them over Mt. Rainier last weekend. Looked like a flying saucer pileup. Found out they only form when air is forced up over a peak and gets wavy.

Yeah the "flying saucer pileup" description is spot on lol. I saw a shot from someone near Mt. Shasta where there were like 4 or 5 stacked on top of each other, looked super surreal. The wind has to be just right too, like a steady stream of moist air hitting the peak at a specific angle. If the air is too dry or the wind is too gusty, they just don't form.
