Called BS on that "lenticular clouds mean rain" thing for years
Kept seeing people post those saucer shaped clouds and claim a storm was coming, figured it was just an old wives tale. Then I watched one form over the mountains near my house and got dumped on exactly 4 hours later three times in a row last spring. Anyone else have a cloud myth they swore was bogus until it proved them wrong?

Did you start timing rain forecasts based on those clouds?

Oh man, that "based on those clouds" part got me lol. I literally do the same thing now every time I'm outside. I started paying attention to those flat gray clouds that look like someone smeared concrete across the sky, and sure enough, rain shows up within like 2-3 hours almost every time. There's this specific kind of mottled cloud cover that I swear is a dead giveaway for afternoon storms in my area. I've gotten to the point where I can call it out to my wife like "watch, it'll rain by 4pm" and she just rolls her eyes but I'm right like 80% of the time lol. It's honestly kind of addicting once you start noticing the patterns, you can't unsee them.
