Bummed about the clouds over Denver this summer
I swear the sky here went from big fluffy cumulus all through June to nothing but hazy flat gray for the last 3 weeks straight. Must be from all the wildfire smoke drifting down from Canada again. Anybody else noticing their local cloud patterns getting wrecked by smoke season?

Heard on a weather podcast that this summer's smoke layer is sitting higher than usual, so it's spreading out and making that flat white blanket instead of the normal ground-level haze. Denver's geography kinda traps it too, with the mountains blocking the usual wind patterns that would push it east. I've been checking the satellite images from NOAA and you can literally see the smoke stream coming down from British Columbia like a river in the sky. The worst part is it kills the evening colors, no more pink sunsets just this dull beige.
