Torn between plastic and cloth diapers for my kid

I spent 3 weeks debating cloth diapers vs. disposable ones after reading about landfill waste. Picked cloth to cut down on trash, but now I'm doing 4 extra loads of laundry a week and my water bill went up $20. Anyone else feel like you trade one problem for another with these climate choices?

My neighbor brags about his solar panels saving him $40 a month, but he ignores the $15k he dropped on installation that he'll never recoup before they fail. Same thing with this. You fix one thing, something else breaks. I think this is just how life works now. Every green choice feels like you're just picking which problem you're willing to put up with.

Pick cheaper panels with a shorter payback period their warranties will outlast.
