Rant: I skipped the heat pump and kept my old gas furnace, and my winter bill in Buffalo was $94
Everyone online pushed me to drop $12k on a heat pump before the rebates ran out, but I ran the numbers for my 1920s house and it would have meant new ducts plus a panel upgrade on top of that. So I went with a $600 tune-up and new insulation in the attic instead, and January came in at $94, way under the $210 I paid the year before. What did your actual quote look like compared to what people say online?
