My town's solar co-op got 40 signups in a month, where's everyone else?
I helped organize a solar co-op in Bellingham last spring and we had 40 households commit in the first month. We negotiated a group rate that cut install costs by 18 percent, which is huge when a typical system runs 15k. But now the follow-through is stalling, maybe 12 people have actually pulled the trigger. It feels like people love the idea until the paperwork hits. Are other co-ops seeing this drop-off, or do we need to push harder on the financing side?

So your drop-off is sitting around 70 percent, which tracks with what I've seen in other group buys, but that still feels crazy high. Did you guys put together a simple payment calculator or a side-by-side of cash versus loan options before people signed up? I'm guessing the ones who bailed hit the financing wall, and that's the part most co-ops don't talk enough about upfront.
