My neighbor's compost bin made me rethink my whole routine
I was chatting with the guy two doors down in Austin last Saturday while we were both out grabbing mail. He mentioned he hasn't put a bag of trash on the curb since March because he composts like 80 percent of his kitchen scraps. I laughed it off at first, but then he showed me his setup, just a basic tumbler and a small bin for worms, and honestly it looked way less complicated than I assumed. I started tracking my own waste this week and realized I toss out a full grocery bag of food scraps every 2 days. Has anyone else switched to composting after seeing how a neighbor or friend does it without turning it into a whole science project?
