My dad's comment about the compost pile stuck with me
Back when I first started trying to reduce food waste, I was pretty proud of my little compost bin in the backyard. My dad came over one Saturday, looked at it, and just said "you're putting meat scraps in there, aren't you? That's gonna smell like a crime scene in a week." He was right. I switched to only veggie scraps and coffee grounds, added some dry leaves from the neighbor's yard, and now it actually breaks down without attracting raccoons. Anyone else get called out by a relative on their eco-efforts?
