Blame the planned obsolescence trend. Nothing's built to last anymore.

Fixing my own stuff instead of replacing it has saved me so much cash over time. Found a YouTube guide for a simple phone battery swap and it gave the phone two more years of life. Really makes you realize how much of this "failure" is just planned from the start.
