Just realized my neighbor's quiet electric mower wasn't about being lazy, it was about the bees.

He told me over the fence last Saturday that his clover patch was finally getting pollinated again after he switched from his gas mower, because the noise and fumes weren't scaring them off anymore.

Wait, the fumes scare them off too?

Doesn't that also mean you have to be careful about using too much spray in an enclosed space? I remember reading that those aerosol fumes can be flammable if they build up near a pilot light or something. Probably smart to keep the area well-ventilated and maybe turn off any gas appliances nearby.

Yeah, I had a wasp nest under my deck last summer, @haydengreen. I sprayed that foaming stuff at night and the fumes definitely made them leave for good. Never saw them come back after that.
