Found a simple way to cut food waste that actually saved me $60 a month

I kept throwing out half my veggies every week because they'd go bad before I could use them. Then I started chopping everything up right when I get home from the store and freezing whatever I won't use in 3 days. It sounds obvious but I never thought about doing it with onions and bell peppers before. Has anyone else found a food prep trick that actually stuck with you?

Yo I feel that frozen ginger trick is gold. My wife does the same thing with garlic and it saves us from those sad little sprouted cloves every time. I started doing that with fresh herbs too, like dill and cilantro chop em up with a little olive oil in those small silicone trays. It's wild how much money you stop burning when you actually use what you buy. The sharpie tip is real though I have a bag of mystery mush in my freezer right now that I'm scared to open lol.

Wait do you not roast your frozen veggies directly from frozen? lol I do the same thing with green onions and mushrooms too, just chop and toss in a bag. The game changer for me was realizing you can freeze ginger and garlic already minced in ice cube trays with a little oil, then just pop one out whenever a recipe calls for it. It takes like 10 minutes once a week and my fridge smells way less weird now. Also pro tip label the bags with a sharpie or you'll end up guessing what's what three weeks later.
