Can we talk about how people think turning off a power strip is the same as unplugging it
I mean, I tested my TV and game console setup with a Kill A Watt meter for a week and found the strip still draws about 8 watts when switched off but left in the outlet, which adds up to a surprising amount over a year in my apartment.

Notice this happens everywhere, like how people think closing an app stops it from using data.

Yeah, the app closing thing... I was totally sure that worked for the longest time. Your post made me actually look it up. Turns out a lot of apps just start back up in the background on their own. It really changed how I manage my phone now, I just turn off background data for stuff instead.

Does anyone else find that turning off background data just makes certain apps super slow when you actually open them though? I had that issue with my weather app once, it would take like 30 seconds to load anything if I killed it in the background first.
