Update: The Rocky River reservation cleanup crew taught me the 20 minute rule
I was walking my dog at the Rocky River reservation last Saturday when I ran into a volunteer crew picking up trash near the ford. One guy named Dale told me they work in 20 minute blocks, then take a 5 minute break, because people quit after an hour straight. I tried it in my own yard in Westlake and got through the whole leaf pile without dreading it. Now I keep a timer on my phone for 20 on, 5 off. Has anyone else found a chore rhythm that works better than just grinding through it?
