Talked to a guy at the Westlake Lowe's who changed how I see my yard
I was grabbing some mulch last Saturday and started chatting with this older fella in the parking lot. He said he's been gardening his corner lot in Bay Village for 40 years and told me he never waters his lawn once it's established. I've been out there with the hose every other night for two summers straight and he just let nature do the work. Made me wonder if I've been wasting all that time and water for nothing. Anyone else stop watering and see their grass survive?

That old timer tip only works if you've got cool season grass.

Hold on though, I've had it work just fine on my fescue here in the transition zone when I adjusted the watering schedule a bit. If you time it right with the dew point it'll still perk up even warm season stuff.
