Paid $75 for a gutter cleaning and it saved my basement from flooding
Ngl I always thought gutter cleaning was a scam. Like how bad can leaves really get up there right? Well after that big storm two weeks ago in Westlake I had water seeping into my basement for the first time ever. Freaked me out. Called a guy from Rocky River who does it for like $75 and he pulled out like 30 pounds of muck from just the front section. Apparently the downspout was completely clogged and water was just pooling around the foundation. Now my basement is bone dry and I feel dumb for waiting so long. Has anyone else had a close call with their gutters?

@victor_lane60 you're not wrong, man. My gutters almost turned my backyard into a swamp last spring. I'm glad you dodged that bullet, Victor. I put off cleaning mine for like three years until a heavy rain sent a waterfall right off the roof and washed out a whole section of my hostas. Now I just pay the $75 every fall and call it cheap insurance compared to fixing a flooded basement or replacing plants.
