My neighbor Randy made me rethink my whole lawn routine after a 5 minute chat

Honestly, I was out watering my grass last Tuesday and Randy from two doors down comes over and says I'm doing it all wrong, watering too often and too shallow. He told me to do one deep soak a week instead of a quick sprinkle every day, and now my lawn actually looks greener after just two weeks. Anyone else had a random neighbor drop some killer advice that actually worked out?

My neighbor Frank told me the same thing and I thought he was nuts until I tried it. Two weeks later and I felt stupid for wasting water for years.

Haha seriously though I was doing the same thing Frank for years running a sprinkler daily like it was gonna somehow fix my patchy disaster of a lawn. I felt like an absolute clown after Randy explained the deep soak thing, standing there with my cheap plastic sprinkler while he just nodded like he knew all along. But hey, at least I'm not mulching my grass clippings into a fine powder anymore because I thought that would help, which I totally did for like a month. It's wild how one neighbor can just walk over and save you from yourself without even trying.
